The Eighth Meeting of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy (CEFP) Friday, March 29, 2002 The eighth meeting of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. During the meeting, the points under discussion concerning the tax system reform were defined. In this discussion, a policy was indicated that a variety of deductions and tax incentives would be reduced in order to widely spread the tax burden, while at the same time, a reduction would be made in the rates for income taxes and the corporation tax in order to lighten the burden and thereby stimulate economic revitalization. The Council is aiming to compile the Guidelines for Tax System Reform by June of this year.
