The Tenth Meeting of the Cabinet Headquarters for Administrative Reform

The Tenth Meeting of the Cabinet Headquarters for Administrative Reform was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.

During the Meeting, the "Implementation Plan for Reform of Modalities for Involvement of the Administration in Public Service Corporations" and the "Fundamental Reform of the Public Service Corporation System" were adopted.

At the close of the Meeting, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi stated, "Fundamental reform of public service corporations is a matter that must be addressed by the entire Government. Furthermore, this is also an important issue from the perspective of advancing administrative reform. I would like Minister of State for Administrative Reform Nobuteru Ishihara to conduct a review from the very starting point of systemic modalities in order to define the direction for reform. I would also like all the Ministers to proactively cooperate with Minister Ishihara to advance reform." The Prime Minister further stated, "I have received a report on the follow-up of the 'Guidelines for Administrative Reform.' All of the Ministers are expected to make even more forceful efforts to implement the important matters under their respective portfolios in a focused, planned and steady manner, and to produce good results."
