The Tenth Meeting of the IT Strategic Headquarters Monday, March 11, 2002 The Tenth Meeting of the Strategic Headquarters for the Promotion of an Advanced Information and Telecommunications Network Society (IT Strategic Headquarters) was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. At the meeting, discussions took place on the topics of "Convergence of Telecommunications and Broadcasting" and "IT Human Resource Development." Regarding "Convergence of Telecommunications and Broadcasting," hearings on the regulations modalities in the future were conducted for people involved in the broadcasting sector. In terms of "IT Human Resource Development," output of the discussions that have taken place so far, will be reflected in the review of the "e-Japan Priority Policy Program" scheduled to take place during May and June of this year. At the closing of the meeting, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi stated that the modalities for the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors are important issues and he hoped to engage in earnest and penetrating discussions from now on.
