New Year's Press Conference

Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi held his New Year's Press Conference at the Prime Minister's Official Residence after paying a visit to Ise Jingu, Japan's premier Shinto shrine.

During the press conference, Prime Minister Koizumi spoke of the major achievements of his administration since it was launched in April 2001. The Prime Minister stressed that he would continue to advance structural reform this year in order to ensure Japan's revitalization.
