Ministerial Meeting on Economic Measures Wednesday, December 19, 2001 The Ministerial Meeting on Economic Measures was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence and the Fiscal 2002 Economic Outlook and Basic Stance for Macroeconomic Management were approved. The report consists of 1) Macroeconomic Management and the Japanese Economy in FY2001; 2) Basic Stance for Macroeconomic Management for FY2002 and; 3) Economic Outlook for FY2002. Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi stated, "The Japanese economy is still experiencing a period of concentrated adjustment and the severe conditions will continue, with zero growth projected for FY2002. The basic position of economic and fiscal management in FY2002 will be further promotion of structural reform without sanctuaries, while simultaneously aiming to contribute to sustainable development of the global economy."
