Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi attended the Forum For Ceaseless Administrative Reform held at the Tokyo Kaikan in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
Held with the goal of ensuring that administrative reform be implemented in a fruitful way, and recognizing that the understanding and support of the people of Japan are essential, the Forum For Ceaseless Administrative Reform aims to expand the movement for administrative reform into a people's movement and thereby generate even greater momentum for administrative reform. Prior to this meeting in Tokyo, the Forum was also held on Saturday October 27 in Sapporo and on Sunday November 4 in Hiroshima with the participation by Minister of State for Administrative Reform Nobuteru Ishihara and members of the Administrative Reform Council, and debate took place on the theme of reform of the special public corporations and others.
Regarding the approach for the reform, Prime Minister Koizumi stated, "We will carry out necessary reforms, even though we may have to accept low levels of growth for two or three years." |
