Departure Report of the Japanese Team of
International Peace Cooperation in Kosovo Friday, November 9, 2001
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi received a departure report from a representative of the Japanese Team of International Peace Cooperation in Kosovo at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.
Elections are scheduled to take place in all regions of Kosovo on November 17 under the supervision of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). At the beginning of September a request was made by the Council of Europe (CE) for Japan to dispatch election observers. In response, on November 2 a decision was taken by the Cabinet to dispatch observers to Kosovo.
Seven members of the Japanese Team visited the Prime Minister's Official Residence, and team leader Yoshiaki Sugiyama spoke for the team in reporting on their departure to the Prime Minister. In response, Prime Minister Koizumi encouraged the team. |
