The fourth meeting of the Headquarters for Industrial Structural Reform and Employment Measures was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.
At the meeting "Comprehensive Employment Measures" were decided that compiled a number of measures that need to be tackled quickly and in a focused manner regarding employment. These measures were comprised of three basic pillars: (1) Creation of new employment opportunity; (2) Elimination of employment mismatching; and (3) Establishment of a safety net. Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi stated, "I will be tasking the next extraordinary Diet session as being the "Diet to tackle employment issues," and based on these "Comprehensive Employment Measures" I would like all the members concerned to make utmost effort into achieving the goals of ensuring employment stability and creating new industries." |
