Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi attended the meeting of the Lower House Budget Committee that was convened at the Diet.
Concerning the series of terrorist attacks in the United States, Prime Minister Koizumi strongly supported the United States in its battle against terrorism, and committed Japan to spare no effort in providing necessary assistance and cooperation.
In addition, the Prime Minister stated that in supporting the United States, Japan would seek to decide specific measures, considering the US intention, and collaborating with all the other countries concerned.
At the same meeting, discussions were also held on economic and fiscal issues including employment measures, in addition to the establishment of legislation for national emergencies. |
