The Seventeenth Meeting of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. Carrying on the discussions of the Sixteenth Meeting, The CEPT members conducted the second follow-up hearings from four ministers, regarding the Basic Policies with the aim set to compile "the Reform Schedule" for the Basic Policies. The ministers in question were Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications Toranosuke Katayama, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Tsutomu Takebe, Minister of the Environment Yoriko Kawaguchi, and Minister of State for Administrative Reform and Regulatory Reform Nobuteru Ishihara. The follow-up hearings on the Basic Policies will be completed at the third round of hearings to take place at the next meeting of the Council on September 4. Following that, reflecting the opinions and discussions conducted through these hearings, "the Reform Schedule" is expected to be compiled by the end of September. |
