Prime Minister Naoto Kan attended a meeting of the House of Councillors Special Committee on Reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake.

During the meeting attended by relevant Cabinet members, intensive discussion took place on the draft Basic Act on Reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake and the request to approve the establishment of local headquarters for response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the Prime Minister answered questions from Committee members. Then the Committee voted for these items, which were passed.
