Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture to exchange views with municipalities on restoring normalcy to people's lives in the disaster-stricken areas, among other purposes.
At 2:46pm, exactly three months after the Great East Japan Earthquake, a silent prayer was offered to those who lost their lives.
The Prime Minister examined the situation with the rubble, the Volunteer Center, and temporary housing, among others, in Kamaishi City. This was followed by the town hall meeting on restoring normalcy to people's lives, during which an exchange of views took place with Mr. Takenori Noda, Mayor of Kamaishi City, Mr. Masaaki Tobai, Deputy Mayor of Otsuchi Town, and people representing various circles.
After the exchange of views, the Prime Minister visited an evacuation center.
