Prime Minister Naoto Kan held the ninth meeting of the Council on the Realization of the New Growth Strategy at the Prime Minister's Office.

Discussion took place on the strategy for innovative energy and environment.

Based on the discussion, the Prime Minister said, "The strategy shall promote the further growth of the Japanese economy as well as move us closer towards achieving the shift to a new energy paradigm."
