Prime Minister Naoto Kan held the 16th meeting of the Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters at the Prime Minister's Office.

Based on the discussion, the Prime Minister said, "The Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters is submitting a major report to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). I believe more than anything the most important thing we must do to regain international trust in Japan is to keep the international community thoroughly informed about the incident.
The nuclear power incident is far from over, and today we are still in the mid-stage of the process. Nevertheless, we have come to the point of confirming the lessons learned. For that, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the relevant parties for all of their efforts up to now."
