Prime Minister Naoto Kan received a courtesy call from the Kishu Plum Society at the Prime Minister's Office.

Each year, June 6 is designated as Plum Day by the Kishu Plum Society.

The Prime Minister was presented with a gift of green plums and pickled plums of the Kishu Nanko brand from the Miss Plum Girls of the Kishu Plum Society, Ms. Kaori Ikenaga and Ms. Saki Yasuda.
