On May 28 (local time), Prime Minister Naoto Kan, who was visiting Brussels in the Kingdom of Belgium for the Japan-EU Summit Meeting, held talks on the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), among other issues, with Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council of the European Union (EU), and Mr. Jose Manuel Durao Barroso, President of the European Commission.
Prime Minister Kan then attended a working lunch, following which he held a joint press conference.
