Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited Fukushima Prefecture.
After meeting with Mr. Yuhei Sato, Governor of Fukushima Prefecture, at the Fukushima Prefectural Office, the Prime Minister visited the local nuclear emergency response headquarters and gave words of encouragement to the staff engaged in disaster responses.
The Prime Minister then visited evacuation centers in Tamura City and Koriyama City to extend words of sympathy to the residents. After meeting with Mr. Yukei Tomitsuka, Mayor of Tamura City, Mr. Masao Hara, Mayor of Koriyama City, and others, the Prime Minister talked with people afflicted by the disaster and volunteers preparing meals.
