Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited earthquake disaster areas and an evacuation center in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, to grasp the extent of the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The Prime Minister then visited J-Village in Futaba County, Fukushima Prefecture, and gave words of encouragement to members of the Self-Defense Forces (SDF) and fire departments and other people who are responding to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
