Prime Minister Naoto Kan held the 16th meeting of the Government Revitalization Unit at the Prime Minister's Office.
Discussion took place on the review of government regulations and the review of programs by each ministry and agency (review of administrative programs).
The Prime Minister said in his opening address, "The review of government
regulations aims to shed light on the problems of regulations and systems which
were not very obvious in the eyes of the people up to now. This is expected
to sprout new growth.
The other review is the review of administrative programs,
and I would like each ministry and agency to undertake reviews of their own
programs to cut down on waste."
