Prime Minister Naoto Kan held talks with Mr. Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the Prime Minister's Office.
After the meeting, the two leaders signed the joint statement between Japan and Uzbekistan, and then attended a signing ceremony for the memorandum on economic cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
