Prime Minister Naoto Kan held the second meeting of the Council for the Realization of the Revival of the Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery Industries at the Prime Minister's Office.

Discussion took place on how to carry out agricultural reform in such a way as to realize sustainable management.

In his opening address, the Prime Minister said, "The next six months will be a critical period for this Council for the Realization of the Revival of the Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery Industries. We will set a course of action and formulate concrete action guidelines in October. I request your further efforts in this endeavor from the bottom of my heart."
