Prime Minister Naoto Kan held the ninth meeting of the Ministerial Committee on the Global Warming Issue at the Diet building.

Discussion took place on responses made at COP16.

Based on the discussion at the meeting, Prime Minister Kan said, "The current situation is by no means an easy one. Each and every one of the nations in the world will make efforts to achieve a common goal -- I believe that the future-oriented process to create a common nature for this large goal in discussions at this meeting is going to be important."
