First Day of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting, and Other Activities
In the morning of November 13, Prime Minister Naoto Kan attended the APEC
CEO Summit 2010 hosted by the Nippon Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and
delivered an address, prior to attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
(APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting held in Yokohama.
Prime Minister Kan then
held talks with Mr. Barack Obama, President of the United States of America.
Following
this, Prime Minister Kan held a welcome working lunch inviting the APEC leaders.
In
the afternoon, Prime Minister Kan attended a Retreat Session and a dialogue
with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), followed by bilateral meetings
with Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China, and Mr. Dmitry
Anatolyevich Medvedev, President of the Russian Federation.
In the evening,
Prime Minister Kan invited the APEC leaders to a cultural performance show,
and then held a banquet with Mrs. Nobuko Kan.
