The Prime Minister Visits Hyogo Prefecture
Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited Hyogo Prefecture, where he observed the Himeji Offenders Rehabilitation Activities Support Center in Himeji City and Minamiashiyahama Silver Housing LSA in Ashiya City, in order to grasp the situation surrounding offenders rehabilitation activities and the prevention of the isolation of the elderly among other matters.
At the Himeji Offenders Rehabilitation Activities Support Center, the Prime Minister observed the facility and then exchanged views with volunteer probation officers and others.
At Minamiashiyahama Silver Housing LSA, which combines barrier-free public housing to cater to the day-to-day needs of the elderly and others, and daily life support services by Life Support Advisors (LSAs), the Prime Minister observed the prefecture-run Ashiya housing complex and participated in a quick guide to dementia lecture held in the assembly hall of the city-run Minamiashiya housing complex. Afterwards, the Prime Minister had a roundtable talk with some of the elderly and LSAs.
