Prime Minister Naoto Kan held a staff meeting of the National Policy Unit and a meeting for an exchange of views with Professor Shinichi Kitaoka at the Prime Minister's Office.

First a staff meeting of the National Policy Unit took place, and discussions were held on the future function and role of the National Policy Unit. Then, Dr. Shinichi Kitaoka, Professor of the University of Tokyo, was invited and discussions took place on Japan's diplomatic and national security policy issues.
