1. Benchmarks
The data included in this Appendix indicate the current status of IT society in Japan, and also are used as benchmarks for quantitatively evaluating the progress of achievements toward goals in each field listed in the e-Japan Priority Policy Program.
It is stated in the e-Japan Priority Policy Program 7-5 that "the IT Strategic Headquarters shall review the Program every spring, study the implementation status of measures every spring and autumn, and make the study results public, in order to ensure steady implementation of these measures included under this program." In order to "study the implementation status of measures," the latest data on these benchmarks shall be collected to evaluate the progress of achievements toward goals.
