Council on the Global Warming Issue Tuesday, April 22, 2008 JAPANESE

Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda held the 3rd meeting of the Council on the Global Warming Issue. At the meeting, the Council members conducted active discussions on a low carbon society and paths to lead to such a society, as well as technology innovation to support the low carbon society. Reflecting on the discussions at the Council meeting, Prime Minister Fukuda said, "In the previous meeting of this Council, I stated that we must work to address the global warming issue with a sense of urgency. I have reaffirmed the necessity of such work at today's meeting. I also reaffirmed the importance for each and every one of the people to work on this issue with a sense of urgency, and the importance for the Government to strengthen its efforts to support the people's work. I intend to use today's recommendations in putting together the opinions of the Council."
