Prime Minister Receives FY2006 Audit Report

Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda received the FY2006 Audit Report from Mr. Muneharu Otsuka, the President of the Board of Audit, at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.
The report pointed out 451 cases of fiscal irregularities, totaling approximately 31 billion yen, including matters concerning fraudulent accounting; competitiveness and transparency of contract; fairness in the collection of insurance premiums and other social security benefits; and the safety and integrity of building structures and disaster prevention and response measures to ensure people's sense of reassurance. The report will be submitted to the Diet, as an important material in deliberating the State's final accounts. |
