The Prime Minister Receives a Courtesy Call from US Ambassador Roos

Prime Minister Taro Aso received a courtesy call from Mr. John V. Roos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Japan, at the Prime Minister's Office. Ambassador Roos arrived in Japan on the 19th of this month and presented his credentials to the Emperor of Japan on the following day. This was the first meeting between Prime Minister Aso and Ambassador Roos.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Aso cordially welcomed Mr. Roos, who has taken up his new post, the US Ambassador to Japan. The Prime Minister expressed his intention for close cooperation on issues facing the Asia-Pacific region, reaffirming the importance of Japan-US relations. Prime Minister Aso and Ambassador Roos exchanged views on matters such as the further strengthening of Japan-US relations.
