Council for the Realization of a Reassuring Society

Prime Minister Taro Aso held the 4th meeting of the Council for the Realization of a Reassuring Society at the Prime Minister's Office.

At the meeting, the Council members discussed a draft summary of the Council's views, which incorporates the opinions expressed at previous Council meetings and was prepared for the compilation of a final report.

In the opening address, Prime Minister Aso said, "The draft summary well represents the content of discussions thus far on the image of society that we seek to realize. Going forward, we also need to discuss a process and path to be taken to realize the image. Furthermore, the responsibility and role of each one of the people, as well as necessary financial resources, also needs to be clearly stipulated in order to realize a reassuring society. The responsibility of those in politics is to realize the reassuring society without flinching from the difficult challenges but by acting on them. I look forward to hearing your frank views."
