Manager Hara presented a cap and T-shirt, which are entitled only to the champion team, and a calligraphy board inscribed "Japan's power" to the Prime Minister, who in turn presented a framed photograph of Manager Hara's victory toss with the signature of "Japan's latent strengths. Taro Aso."
Prime Minister Aso expressed his gratitude for manager Hara, saying, "I was impressed by Samurai Japan's achievements. The Korean team was formidable and that made the games all the more exciting." Manager Hara commented that his impression of the extra-inning final with the Korean team was "the fight of the century." In response, the Prime Minister praised the outstanding performance of Samurai Japan when he said, "It brought us bright news amidst a bleak mood prevalent elsewhere."
