This was the fourth of the meetings to be held to address the deterioration of the Japanese economy triggered by the global financial crisis. Divided into 10 groups, leading experts of various fields advise the Prime Minister in a comprehensive manner on how to steer Japan's economic and fiscal policies going forward.
This time, eight experts, who specialize in human resources development and employment, were invited to the Prime Minister's Office, followed by nine experts comprised of those from local governments and those specializing in regional economies. Each group of invited experts discussed the policy direction with the Cabinet members concerned.
