Prime Minister Taro Aso, continuing on from the previous day, held an advisory meeting on overcoming the economic crisis at the Prime Minister's Office.

This was the third of the meetings to be held to address the deterioration of the Japanese economy triggered by the global financial crisis. Divided into 10 groups, leading experts of various fields advise the Prime Minister in a comprehensive manner on how to steer Japan's economic and fiscal policies going forward.

This time, eight experts, who specialize in research and development, education, and infrastructures to develop growth potential, among other areas of expertise, were invited to the Prime Minister's Office, and discussed the policy direction with the Cabinet members concerned.
