Prime Minister Taro Aso held a meeting of the Headquarters for Emergency Employment and Economic Measures at the Diet building.

At the meeting, a collection of examples of projects for employment measures, compiled for local governments, were introduced after each ministry and agency gave a report on the status of implementation of employment and economic measures. The document compiles examples of projects that can be conducted in sectors in which insufficient human resources are anticipated in the future. The national government will support local governments promoting projects that take into account the examples. The aim is to thereby create new jobs.

Prime Minister Aso said, "I have been saying that the compilation of countermeasures for business activity, the total scale of which is 75 trillion yen, and their execution will constitute the best possible economic countermeasures. Although we now have the collection of examples of projects, it would become useless if local governments do not come up with new ideas. I ask each ministry and agency to support local governments and their initiatives to promote projects that take into account these examples."
