Prime Minister Taro Aso held a meeting of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy at the Prime Minister's Office.

At the meeting, the Council members deliberated on the advancement of regulatory reform. Intensive discussion also took place on the mid-term program toward integration of social security, tax reform and public expenditure reform.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Aso said, "This is the Council's fourth discussion on the mid-term program. Based on these discussions, I ask the Council to compile a mid-term program geared to the future."
