Prime Minister and Mrs. Aso Meet Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales, and The Duchess of Cornwall

Prime Minister Taro Aso, together with Mrs. Chikako Aso, met Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales, and The Duchess of Cornwall, who are paying an Official Visit to Japan, at a hotel in Tokyo.

Prime Minister Aso said, "I cordially welcome the visit by Your Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales, and The Duchess of Cornwall to Japan. It is my honor, in my capacity of Prime Minister, to welcome Your Royal Highness The Prince of Wales on your fourth visit to Japan and to meet in this commemorative year of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan the United Kingdom (UK)."

At the meeting, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales expressed the delight he takes in seeing close exchanges between the UK and Japan, and his hope that UK-Japan relations will continue to develop further. His Royal Highness also touched upon the importance of forest conservation. Prime Minister Aso expressed his intention to demonstrate leadership together with the United Kingdom in addressing the climate change issue."
