Prime Minister Taro Aso visited a supermarket in Tokyo, and observed the dairy product and seafood sections, among others, while listening to explanations about product prices and so on.

Following the visit, Prime Minister Aso said, "Having heard people talking about prices, product shortages, product quantity reductions without price modifications, and so on, I was interested to see for myself the reality."

Afterwards, the Prime Minister talked to a taxi driver waiting for customers at the taxi stand near the station, and asked about situations like daily earnings.
