At the extraordinary Cabinet meeting on the morning of August 30, the parliamentary secretaries of the Abe Cabinet were decided, following the decision of senior vice-ministers made on the previous day. The leading figures of all the ministries and agencies of the reshuffled Abe Cabinet were thus decided.
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe delivered letters of appointment to the new parliamentary secretaries, who had assembled at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.
Prime Minister Abe then attended a commemorative photograph session, which was also joined by Mr. Kaoru Yosano, the Chief Cabinet Secretary, and others. At the first meeting of the parliamentary secretaries that followed, the Prime Minister asked the parliamentary secretaries to exert all their skills to serving their posts and join hands in the endeavor to fulfill the mandate of the Japanese people.
