Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received courtesy calls at the Prime Minister's Official Residence from elementary school students who had won awards at the "Dreams Coming True through Innovation in 2025" contest.

The Cabinet Office solicited elementary school students to present essays and pictures that illustrate their future dreams in the "Dreams Coming True through Innovation in 2025" contest, with the aim of raising interest in reforms that adopt new technologies and methods and promoting dreams among children, on whose shoulders the future lies. The Cabinet Office had received 372 works from children across the country, 11 of whom had won awards and now paid courtesy calls to the Prime Minister.

The "dreams" of the award winners were introduced to Prime Minister Abe one by one. They included a "Robot guide dog," "Car fuelled by kitchen garbage," "Wall that brings back a starry sky" and "Thought-controlled wheelchair." After listening to the "dreams" of all award-winners, Prime Minister Abe said, "The Wright brothers realized their dream of flying in the sky, which they had been dreaming of since they were children. Each one of you has shared with me your dream that is motivated by your desire to contribute to people, by means such as "improving the society," "cleaning our planet earth," and "helping people in trouble." I was truly heartened by them. I hope that each one of you will hold on to your dream into the future and try your best to make it come true."
