Prime Minister Attends the Plenary Session of
the House of Representatives
Friday, June 29, 2007
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and all other Cabinet members attended the plenary session of the House of Representatives for deliberations on a non-confidence resolution in the Abe Cabinet submitted by the opposition parties.
Endorsement came from the opposition parties that had submitted the resolution, while the ruling parties argued against it. The result of the vote that followed was rejection of the bill, with a majority in opposition.
Later, in the plenary session of the House of Councillors that resumed at midnight on June 30, a number of key bills were passed and enacted, including the bill related to the Social Insurance Agency reform, the bill on the special measure for the statute of limitation for pensions, and the bill to revise the National Public Service Law.
