Prime Minister Shinzo Abe invited people from four facilities for disabled persons to the South Garden of the Prime Minister's Official Residence to promote exchange activities. These facilities engage daily in activities such as creating name cards, exhibiting pottery and pictures, baking sweets, and cooking and catering services.
Prime Minister Abe greeted the participants, saying, "We are exerting our utmost efforts to remove barriers. However, this is more easily said than done, and I am sure that disabled people indeed confront various difficulties. Today we have invited all of you who, amidst these difficulties, strive to do your best in various fields." Prime Minister Abe further said, "I would like to talk with each of you today and hear your frank opinions."
Later, Prime Minister Abe listened to explanations of activities at booths run by the participating facilities, and then enjoyed looking at pictures and pottery works and talking with participants over a lunch of bread, salad and soup.
