Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited one of Tokyo's small- and medium-sized enterprises and a shopping arcade.
First, Prime Minister visited an enterprise in Itabashi Ward. This company was the first in Japan to commercialize plastic-made bearings, and has been further continuing the development of its original products. There Prime Minister Abe was given an explanation about the damper, a component used to buffer noises and shocks caused in situations such as shutting a piano lid. Afterwards, Prime Minister Abe observed the company's factory, as well as a test room.
As a next stop, Prime Minister Abe observed a shopping arcade in Kita Ward that was brimming with year-end shopping vigor. This arcade has been committed to an "outstanding goods of member shops campaign," in which organizers promote PR activities for items they recommend as the outstanding goods of the arcade.
After the observations, Prime Minister Abe said, "At the enterprise I visited, people told me that even a small company can pave a new way and advance overseas if it works dedicatedly for technical development. I want to support small- and medium-sized enterprises and shopping arcades by creating an environment in which that even those businesses that have yet to recover their vitality can reach opportunities based on their motivation, ingenuity and knowledge."
