On October 18, 2020 (local time), the Prime Minister visited Hanoi in the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
The following day, on October 19 (local time), the Prime Minister attended a welcome ceremony, followed by a meeting with H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Afterwards, the leaders held an exchange of documents ceremony and a joint press announcement in relation to grant assistance. Later, the Prime Minister held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, and then enjoyed a stroll with Prime Minister Phuc at the late President Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister gave a policy speech at the Vietnam-Japan University and engaged in a frank and candid discussion with the students. The Prime Minister then offered flowers at the Martyrs’ Monument and the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Afterwards the Prime Minister held a meeting with H.E. Mdm. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Chairwoman of National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission and President of the Viet Nam - Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association. Later, the Prime Minister held a press conference regarding the Japan-Viet Nam Summit Meeting and other events.
