[Provisional Translation]

On May 31, 2018, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held the 42nd meeting of the Council for the Implementation of Education Rebuilding at the Prime Minister's Office.

At the meeting, the follow-up report for the Council for the Implementation of Education Rebuilding entitled “Report on the Implementation Status of All Recommendations to Date” was compiled.

The Prime Minister received the report and afterwards said in his address,
“I would like to extend my appreciation to Chair Kamata and all of the members of the council for collating the implementation status of all proposals made to date.

The Council for the Implementation of Education Rebuilding has compiled 10 proposals to date. With respect to education rebuilding, it is important that its philosophy permeates classrooms and be steadily materialized.

It is no exaggeration to say that the success or failure of education rebuilding depends on the follow-up of these proposals. It is important to monitor the status of efforts at each educational institution, provide appropriate advice, and take necessary improvement measures. It is also required to make the direction of reforms clear for issues newly
identified in the course of the process.

From this perspective, I ask that members of the council continue to thoroughly follow up.I hope all of you play an important role in driving Japan’s education rebuilding forward. Thank you very much.”
