Gathering for the One-Year Anniversary of the National Movement to Support Children’s Futures
November 8, 2016

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended the Gathering for the One-Year Anniversary of the National Movement to Support Children’s Futures at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Prime Minister said in his address,
“One year has passed since the official launch of the National Movement to Support Children’s Futures. Soon, nationwide, we will kick off activities for children financed by the Fund to Support Children’s Futures. I would like to once again thank everyone for their donations.
There are children who face various challenges. I hope that advocacy organizations will continue their activities, such as helping the children with their schoolwork, serving them meals, and finding them comfortable places to stay.
I understand that companies and individuals that are familiar with these organizations have provided supports. If these advocacy organizations can continue their activities, the network of supports in the community will widen.
Furthermore, the organizations that receive assistance from the Fund will be connected.
So will the advocacy organizations and the companies and individuals that made donations.
These connections will lead to new discoveries for giving better support to children and establish contacts with new partners. I expect there will be this kind of expansion of network.
I look forward to working with everyone to create a society where all children can work hard towards their dreams, unaffected by the environment in which they were born or raised.
Thank you very much for coming today.”
