Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from Mr. Eikei Suzuki, Governor of Mie Prefecture, at the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister said in his address,

“Each candidate site was outstanding in its own right. Our goal is to showcase Japan’s beautiful nature, and its vibrant tradition and history to the world. Based on this perspective, we have decided to host next year’s G-7 Summit in Ise-Shima. I believe you are already making preparations and I ask also for your support in getting ready to host the visiting dignitaries.
I would also like to ask you to work hard to capitalize on this opportunity to promote Ise-Shima, thereby encouraging many different people from around the world to take an interest in and visit the area.”
