Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from next generation Latin American leaders of Japanese Descent at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Prime Minister said in his address,
“Last year when I visited Latin America, I was welcomed warmly by people of Japanese descent living in each country that I toured. I am very happy to meet all of you young people of Japanese descent who are making contributions to the development of your home countries.

I believe the contributions of the 1.8 million Latin Americans of Japanese descent have helped Japan immensely in building very close and friendly relationships with the countries of Latin America. I would like to continue honoring our close bonds with people of Japanese descent living overseas. I ask for your ongoing assistance as important bridges between Japan and Latin America.”
