I am pleased to announce that Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress will pay a State Visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Belgium.
Japan has long enjoyed the close relations with both countries, and there has been a traditionally cordial relationship between the Imperial Family and the Royal Families of both countries. His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and His Majesty King Philippe of the Kingdom of Belgium have on numerous occasions extended invitations for Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress to visit their respective countries.
I am convinced that Their Majesties’ visit will further strengthen the cordial relations of friendship and goodwill between the Imperial Family and the Royal Families of both countries, and I feel immense pleasure together with the people of Japan.
I would like to express my wholehearted wishes for Their Majesties’ pleasant journey and safe return home.
