Japan-Netherlands Summit Telephone Meeting (Summary)

On June 1, commencing at 6:15 p.m. for approximately 15 minutes, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit telephone meeting with H.E. Mr. Rob JETTEN, Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

  1. At the outset, Prime Minister TAKAICHI reiterated her congratulations on Prime Minister Jetten’s inauguration in February of this year and expressed her hope to further develop the friendly relations between the two countries, which have spanned more than 400 years.
  2. The two leaders confirmed that the visit of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress to the Netherlands, scheduled for this month, would serve as an opportunity to further deepen the friendly relations between the two countries, and that they would continue to cooperate closely towards the success of the visit.
  3. The two leaders concurred that they would promote cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of fields, including security and economic security, based on the Japan-Netherlands Action Plan 2025, which was announced in April of last year.
  4. The two leaders also confirmed that they would continue to cooperate closely on urgent international issues, such as the situation in East Asia.
