On December 22, 2025, Prime Minister Takaichi held the Commemorative Ceremony to Mark the 140th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Cabinet System at the Prime Minister’s Office.
At the ceremony, after the singing of the national anthem, Prime Minister Takaichi delivered an address. Then Mr. NUKAGA Fukushiro, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. SEKIGUCHI Masakazu, President of the House of Councillors, and Mr. IMASAKI Yukihiko, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, delivered congratulatory addresses.
Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Takaichi moved with the attendees to the Prime Minister’s Official Residence, where a commemorative reception marking the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the Cabinet system was held.
At the reception, remarks were delivered by Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara, followed by a toast proposed by Mr. ASO Taro, former Prime Minister of Japan.
